چکیده
Abstract Cancer diagnosis is increasing rapidly worldwide and pain a common feature reported by cancer patients. Therapeutical approach on complex where less invasive methods with little side effects have been sought. The aim of this study was to compare transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) interferential current (IC) therapies pain. Double blind 81 Subjects were set up into two groups: one treated TENS VIF (n=42) other IC (n=39). Age, gender, duration pain, tumor site histology, medications, treatments, Karnofsky score clinical state evaluated. Pain measured EMADOR McGill scores. Electroanalgesia performed for 30 minutes, the equipments used Neurodyn III Ibramed® Neurovector generation 2000 Ibramed®. Electrodes placed there higher intensity according what shown patient through EMADOR, each got only electrotherapy session. significantly reduced in both groups (p<0.001) soon after until 6th hour post electrotherapy. group had better results at 4th, 5th (p=0.022). significant 4th highly all evaluated times (p<0.001). Analgesic effect clinically effective, however, did cause regarding analgesia duration. Keywords: Pain. Analgesia. Physical Therapy Modalities. Transcutaneous Electric Nerve Stimulation. Current concepts in electrotherapy.
Electrotherapy has an established role in the management of a wide range of musculoskeletal and neurological problems. Used in conjunction with other therapeutic interventions, it can make a positive contribution to patient care. The means by which a range of different exogenous energy forms can influence the physiological state of the tissue is well documented. Different therapeutic modalities...
متن کاملAn investigation into the analgesic effects of interferential currents and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation on experimentally induced ischemic pain in otherwise pain-free volunteers.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Interferential currents (IFC) and transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) are used for pain management. This study compared the analgesic effects of IFC and TENS on experimentally induced ischemic pain in otherwise pain-free subjects using a modified version of the submaximal-effort tourniquet technique. SUBJECTS The subjects were 30 volunteers (18 male, 12 f...
متن کاملEffects of transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and interferential currents (IFC) in patients with nonspecific chronic low back pain: randomized clinical trial.
CONTEXT AND OBJECTIVE Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) and interferential current are the most used electrotherapy methods, although there is little scientific evidence to support their use. The aim of this study was to compare the effects of TENS and interferential current among patients with nonspecific chronic low back pain. DESIGN AND SETTING Single-blind randomized cont...
متن کاملEfficacy of Selected Electrical Therapies on Chronic Low Back Pain: A Comparative Clinical Pilot Study
BACKGROUND In the currently available research publications on electrical therapy of low back pain, generally no control groups or detailed randomization were used, and such studies were often conducted with relatively small groups of patients, based solely on subjective questionnaires and pain assessment scales (lacking measurement methods to objectify the therapeutic progress). The available ...
